Amir Zia is currently Director News and Current Affairs of Samaa TV. His career is journalism spans to 18 years. During this time he has worked for leading international and national media organizations including The Associated Press of America, Reuters, Newsline and The News. 

He also headed the Public Relations Department of Pakistan Petroleum Ltd and served as the editor of its corporate magazine “Progress.”

Zia has received two APNS awards for best stories in the categories of economy and general news in 1997. He was also the secretary of the Karachi Press Club.
