He was recently elected for a 4 year period as one of the 4 global vice presidents of IUCN, world’s largest environmental organization. He is the founder of the Citizens’ Media Commission of Pakistan, the South Asian Media Association and several research centres, think tanks and grass-roots development organizations including Baanhn Beli and SPO (Strengthening Participatory Organization) that work in more than 2000 villages in all the 4 provinces.

He is also a member of the longest-running (17 years) Pakistan-India Track-II Dialogue known as the Neemrana Initiative. He has served as Minister in three Federal Cabinets of Pakistan and as a Senator for a 6-year term. The Ministries and portfolios he has headed include Information & Media Development, Petroleum & Natural Resources, Science & Technology, & National Affairs.

He has drafted several progressive laws and policies including the PEMRA law for private electronic media.
Ten books have been published that comprise anthologies of his writing on various different subjects.
The Human Rights Society of Pakistan awarded him with a Gold Medal in 2008 for outstanding voluntary public service.

Sadia Abid is a professional chef and the owner of the Sadia’s Kitchen. She is a married woman with a busy life. She appreciates her husband being supportive ever since they’ve been together. “He has never stopped me from doing anything I wanted to”, says Sadia.  The amazing things is Sadia barely knew how to cook when got married, but because of her husband (who is a food lover) she learned and finally became a pro.

Sadia’s Kitchen is an online food providing service that began in 2009. It’s been very successful and now Sadia has started catering as well.  Sadia had to do a lot of marketing for her kitchen, which she did through Facebook and Twitter. She updates her website for changes and addition in the menu card every Sunday. All you have to do is chose what you want from the menu, fill in your contact details on the website and your food will be delivered at your house.

Sadia is inspired by her father. “My success is all because of my parents, especially my father. He gives me hope,” she says. Sadia loves her kids  who are there for her, to give her hope. Her message to the youth of Pakistan, is to always be united.
