Yousuf Raza Gillani is the 26th Prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. He was previously Speaker of the National Assembly (1993-1997) and a Federal Minister (1985-1986, 1989-1990). Mr. Gilani is Vice-Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).  He was also a member of General Zia-Ul-Haq’s Majlis-e-shoora.

He holds a degree in journalism from Punjab University. Yousuf Raza Gillani is known as a good administrator with a firm decision-making capability. He is also an author of a book Chah-e-Yusuf ki Sada (Reflections from Yusuf’s Well).
